WELCOME WEBSTER LAKE BOATERS!
Please adhere to the Rules & Regulations for the Safety of everyone using the Lake!

  • Stay at least 150 feet from all objects, shore, boats, docks, swimmers, water skiers and public swim areas unless at headway speed (motor at idle & in gear).
  • Use only headway speed in all channels.
  • Webster Lake is an alcohol free Lake! Consumption of alcoholic beverages in public is an arrestable offense in Webster.
  • Sailboats, canoes, kayaks & all non-motorized craft have the right of way.
  • Negligent operation of a watercraft (hot dogging, following skiers, tight circling, wake jumping etc.) is strictly prohibited.
  • No one under 18 may operate a Jet Ski (Personal Water Craft - PWC). Youths 16-17 may operate with an approved Safety Course.
  • No one under 16 may operate a boat. Youths 12-15 may operate with an approved Safety Course.
  • Towing or night operation by Jet Skis (PWC) is not allowed.
  • The maximum speed limit for all vehicles is 45 MPH during daylight hours and 5 MPH at night.
  • No water skiing is allowed to or from public beaches or at night.
  • Boats towing skiers and tubes must have a spotter at least 12 years old.
  • Personal Flotation Devices (PFD):
  • All boat occupants must have a PFD available and children under 12 must wear it while under way.

  • All Jet Ski (PWC) operators and passengers must wear a PFD.

  • Anyone being towed must wear a PFD.

  • Persons aboard a canoe or kayak must wear a PFD from 9/15 - 5/15.

All Boating laws of Massachusetts are strictly enforced by the Local Police and Lake Patrols!
