orders-We will be putting in orders for jackets again. Jane Hill
will email information soon.

Newsletter- will
be coming out soon and please look next to your name on the
mailing label for your dues expiration date. If you are due,
please send a check to the WLA for $20 (or more?) per person and
return it c/o Joan Wentland, 31 Bay View Rd. Webster 01570

We agreed by vote
to accept the spelling of the lake as Lake
Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg. This is now our
official spelling with 45
letters (not 49). Motion made by Ernie Benoit and seconded by
Anita Pichette
Treasurer's Report
-
Approval of
financial statement- Moved by Ernie Benoit and seconded by Paul
Turner to accept Treasurer's report as submitted.

We have a balance
of $28,356.47.

Please remember to
pay your dues and encourage others to become members
Secretary's Report
-
Membership is at
488 people and we would welcome more from the lake and town of
Webster as well as lake supporters who wish to contribute to the
cause.

of Minutes from our June General Meeting-moved by Ernie Benoit
and seconded by Paul Turner to accept

Lake Watch
reminder-We needs to report any violations to our local police
in the areas of reckless boating, violations, littering etc. as
they will act and appreciate the tips. Also, it would be a good
thing to say thank you once in while to those town officials
(police) who monitor our lake.

We raffled of
donated prints by Ron Harden and Linda Littleton in lieu of the
50/50 raffle we usually do

Report from Ernie
Benoit on Water Quality Testing and the Weed Watch Seminar
-
The team is
out monitoring every other Wednesday and compiling the
information that Ernie will be tabulating for us.

Ernie reported
that we now seem to have an invasion of Pondweed - a non
invasive weed but pesky non the less. The DEP said we could take
measures to control it if it is a nuisance.
FUN-draisers
Committee Report
-
Calendar update
(Carolyn and Rebecca)- Carolyn displayed the winning calendar
pictures for us to see. Congrats to all the winners.
-
The ads and
business cards are all sold for the next year calendar.
Great work Carolyn, Rebecca and the committee members who
work very hard to raise funds and promote the WLA.
-
Calendars will
be on sale at the October meeting and make great holiday
gifts
-
Raffle report

We sold 253
tickets for the raffle
-
Huge thanks to
all the volunteers who went out every week to sell tickets.
-
We will have
raised approximately $18,000 that will go to weed treatment
for next year so thank you all.
-
Maps of the lake
done by Rebecca Leonard are still on sale for $40.00 and part of
the proceeds go to the WLA.
-
We may do more
flags and T-shirts next spring
-
Upcoming events
-
If you are
interested in organizing a golf tournament for next fall,
please contact
Anita Pichette. We could
use some male input here and encourage all our golfers to
help out with this.

We are still
planning a Halloween party; Valentines Dance and more so
stay tuned.

If you want to
assist the FundRaising committee, the next meeting will be
September 12 at Nancy Healy's home
Old Business
-
Peter Luchina
spoke on the Killdeer Road Race which will be held on September
10th. You can walk or run. The cost is $12 and part of the
profits will go to WLA. Get involved, stay fit and have fun.

Several WLA
Members volunteered for the Danskin Triathlon volunteers Our
thanks to all of you who volunteered and represented the WLA.
New Business

Hawaiian Raffle -
The winning ticket went to Fran Lesperance of Worcester - Have a
great trip!
-
AJ from Point
Breeze pulled the winning ticket after all stubs were
cross-referenced by two accountants.
-
This is our major
fundraiser and again, thanks to everyone who purchased tickets,
sold tickets and to Empire Travel. A special thanks to Point
Breeze, Colonial Club and Waterfront Mary's for allowing us to
sell at your establishments.
