Webster Lake Association's First Annual Independence Day Boat Parade!

If you thought you saw Uncle Sam out on Webster Lake Saturday you don't need to make an appointment for an eye exam. He was just one of twenty boats decorated for the first annual Webster Lake Association's Fourth of July Boat Parade.

From pontoon boats filled with cowboys to Master Craft covered with bathing beauties and everything in between they danced or hula-ed and partied around the lake during the two hour parade route greeting landlubbers and fellow water craft wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July.

"We had twenty boats for our first year and they were all just incredibly decorated," said Jeanne Rossetti, Fundraising Chairman.

The funds raised from Saturday's parade will help pay for the costs of the current Webster Lake weed survey being done by GeoSyntec Consultants for the association.

"It was a great opportunity to get together with family and friends and enjoy this great lake that we have and be part of the community," said first-place winner Ken Cournoyer from Webster. Cournoyer's family spent most of Friday evening decorating their pontoon boat in a tropical mermaid theme.

"We couldn't be happier with the parade," added Rossetti. "People on shore stopped and waved as did many of our fellow boaters. What a wonderful way to spend some time on the lake. We're definitely looking forward to next year."
