The Lake Boon Commission, Lake Boon Association, Friends of Lake Boon, and the Towns of Stow and Hudson have been working together to plan the future of Lake Boon. They have received both a DEM Lakes and Ponds grant, a DEP 319 grant, and are participating in the DFWELE Lake / Watershed Stewardship Program. The SuAsCo Watershed Team supported all three funding sources for Lake Boon. Controversy clouded the work of the above groups when a law suite was filed over the use of herbicides. The case is still pending. The groups have continued their holistic watershed approach to the management of Lake Boon and have recently conducted a “Lake Watershed Shoreline Survey”. A DRAFT TMDL for Lake Boon (aka Boons Pond) has been posted on the DEP web site at: http://www.state.ma.us/dep/brp/wm/tmdls.htm . Additional information on the DFWELE Lake / Watershed Stewardship Program can be found at:
